Lot of bars on the Split waterfront, some embedded in the old Diocletian Palace. Hvar Town is good for a night out. Check if Hajduk are at home - tickets are easy to get at the stadium.

Split is OK, some nice bars in the old town (which happens to actually be Doicletian's retirement palace).
Croation birds are well fit but previous posters are right, better get to the island to see some real action.
I would suggest the island of Pag if youve got the time - Croatia's ibiza.

Go to Hvar, get the speedboat across if there is a group of you.
Split airport is a fucking DUMP - probably the worst I've ever visited. Or maybe it was just how I felt after a weekend on the sauce.

Water world Croatia, was the company we did the island tour with. Great captain and well worth the day out.

Troy, I don't remember the beers being ridiculously priced,I was only there 3 weeks ago but can't really remember!! Was with the mrs so we mainly had nice meals out tbh and ice cream!!
there is a bar on the waterfront that is a rooftop bar which had a good atmosphere and nice view etc.

do the 6 island boat tour for the day. it is like a race there in the morning and important you get there quick or you get stuck in a long queue. but worth a day out
great city. all happens down the water front.
